Quick & Easy Honey-Baked Apple Salmon Recipe

Share The Love

The easiest baked salmon recipe you’ll ever make!

Prep Time: 25 Minutes; Heat Oven to 450

Ingredients

  • 4 Large Salmon Fillets
  • Kosher Salt
  • Onion Powder
  • Garlic Powder
  • Cumin
  • Crushed Red Pepper
  • Cinnamon (just a pinch)
  • Parsley (just a pinch)
  • Thinly Sliced Apple (about 1/8″; we prefer Honeycrisp)
  • 1/2 Small Sweet Onion, diced
  • Honey (for drizzling)
  • Flavored BBQ Sauce (we suggest Jim Beam Maple Bourbon)

*For an extra kick, try adding a pinch of Red Pepper*

Arrange fillets skin-down on a baking sheet. Add seasonings to taste (or, as the meme says, until your ancestors whisper to stop). Add a pinch of cinnamon to each apple slice, add to each fillet and top with diced onion. Bake for 12-15 minutes, less for smaller fillets. Once done remove skin (it’s easier to remove at this point versus when the salmon is still raw) and smother with BBQ sauce. Place back in the oven for another 3-5 minutes. Serve immediately.

So first off, I really hope you guys appreciate me putting the recipe at the very top! Wilbur does most of the cooking, but I’m a big baker and I’m always searching for new recipes to try. And my biggest pet peeve is having to read someone’s life story before I get to the recipe. I mean, I get it, and usually, I’ll go back and read it afterwards, but hopefully this makes it easier for you in case you just need a quick recipe without all the extra.

A few notes on this recipe. Like most of the meals you’ll find on All Day Britney, this quick and easy baked salmon recipe is specialty of my husband’s, so all of the notes are his (read: if you hate it, blame him!) Anyway, why kosher salt? Apparently different types of salt are better for different dishes (I’m a big Sea Salt gal myself) and kosher is best for meat. More on that HERE. Does it HAVE to be that particular brand and that particular flavor of BBQ sauce? Wilbur wants me to note that if you’re looking for this specific sweet and savory vibe, that’s the one you want to go with. If you’re more into savory than sweet, you could always go with a smokier variety. Sweet Baby Ray’s has some great options.

For kid-friendly sides, we usually go with brown rice and steamed veggies or, sometimes, Wilbur will bake asparagus with butter and Parmesan cheese (heavenly!).
