10 Elevated & Modern Leather Leggings Outfit Ideas For 2024

Keep reading for cute and casual leather leggings outfit ideas for 2024! I’m a solid 16 with PLENTY of curves. I always assumed leather leggings, faux or otherwise, would highlight all the wrong things. But, I’m happy to tell you that I was so wrong! Whether you’re a size 2, a size 12, or a size 22, you can totally wrong faux, Vegan, or genuine leather leggings.

What Shirt Can You Wear With Leather Leggings?

The cool thing about leather leggings is how versatile they are. You can dress them up with a sparkly sequin top for NYE, or down with a sweatshirt, blazer, and cool sneakers to run errands. It really depends on your vibe.

Personally, I prefer a bit of a longer top just to make sure everything’s covered. Or, if I do a shorter top, I might add a longer jacket or cardigan for extra coverage.

But I’ve seen really cute outfits with cropped tops too, so it really just depends on you and where you’re going and what your vibe is.

Are Leather Leggings Still In Style In 2024?

They most certainly are! Full disclosure: I grabbed the leather leggings you see pictured back in 2020! First of all, shout out to Zenana, because these babies are still in perfect condition even after me wearing them year after year.

Anyway, yes, you can still wear leather leggings in 2024 and probably in 2025 as well! Just because you’ve had something for a few seasons doesn’t mean it automatically goes in the “out of style” pile.

At this point, I think of leather leggings as an elevated basic. And as you know, elevated basics are still very on trend for 2024 and 2025!

When you’re styling a piece of clothing you’ve had for a minute, think of ways to update. For example, back in 2020, we were still wearing leather leggings with oversized tunics and chunky cardigans. Don’t get me wrong, still cute.

But…

Warm knits are definitely a go-to this time of year! Layer over a denim top for a bit of extra coverage and pair with your faux leather leggings for an updated look.

Cozy Sweatshirt

Okay, I love a cozy and comfortable sweatshirt, especially around this time of year!

While they’re great for lounging around the house, pairing one with faux leather leggings is a great way to elevate your favorite sweatshirt when it’s time to run errands, grab lunch with a friend, or take the kids to their various activities.

This particular outfit looks great with boots or sneakers, so what you add is up to you! This top from Good & Well Boutique is sold out, but here’s a comfy alternative!

Mixed Textures!

Another top from a previous pregnancy (hey, if I like it, I keep it in rotation!). Just like your favorite denim, faux leather leggings can dress up or down, depending on how you style them.

The leggings keep this cozy, feminine sweater from being *too* soft and sweet, and those boots are just perfection! Lately, I’ve been playing around with mixing complimentary colors and I feel like a good neutral boot keeps everything from looking too “matchy-matchy”.

Back To Basics

This denim top is sooo versatile! I find a reason to wear it every season, and this Winter is no different. It’s super comfy (aaand breastfeeding friendly) and pairs well with my fave pair of brogues for a casual, yet fun look.

A Great Print

If you’re all set for solid tops and looking for a quick way to update your wardrobe, I love a sweater or cardigan with a great cardigan.

If you’re leaning more towards an investment piece, the general rule of thumb is to go with smaller prints in neutral tones so you can wear them season after season. You can also look for classic prints like stripes.

But if you’re look for an affordable, fun piece, the sky is really the limit with which patterns speak to you. It’s a personal choice, for sure!

A Conversational Piece

Okay, am I the only one that starts a good story with “Chiiiiild”? When I tell you this fun sweatshirt spoke to me on such a personal level!

I love the color and I especially love the fit; it’s flattering and feminine, not boxy like your typical sweatshirt. This one from A Meaningful Mood is sold out, but there are other that are just as cute!

Outfit update: In 2024, I would add a slightly oversized blazer to elevate this look and add a warm extra layer. Try it out!

A Tried & True Favorite

Faux leather leggings are pretty elevated on their own, so I love pairing them with more rugged, casual pieces like this shacket from a few seasons back.

If you still have yours, pull it out and try for yourself! If you’re in the market for this season’s favorites, I would recommend one of the barn jackets or even a solid color shacket if you don’t already have one.

Warm Cardi
