(And 4 Awesome Recipes If You Prefer The Homemade Route)

Did you know July 19th is National Ice Cream Day? I didn’t either! Apparently, August 19th is also National Soft-Serve Ice Cream Day, which is slightly confusing, but whatever. Since we just celebrated National Ice Cream Day and National Soft-Serve Ice Cream will be here before you know it, I’ve compiled a four of the easiest homemade ice cream recipes I could find. And, for those who would rather grab and go, I’ve rounded up the ten of the best Black-owned ice cream shops in the South. Let’s get into it!

Easy Ice Cream Recipes

Unicorn Ice Cream from Divas Can Cook (perfect for the kiddos!)

Vegan Mango Ice Cream from Jessica In The Kitchen (made with just three ingredients!)

Sweet Potato Ice Cream from Black Girls Who Brunch (okay, this one honestly sounds amazing. I never thought to combine sweet potato flavor with ice cream, but I might have to give this one it a try!)

Strawberry Banana Sorbet from Cheneé Today (no ice-cream maker required equals no stress; I’m here for it!)
