How To Style Different Spring Prints Together?
We’re going to get into that in just a minute, but YES, styling two different prints together can work.
I typically avoid pairing bold prints together. Instead, I’ll do a simple print in neutral tones on top and go bold on the bottom. Or vice-versa. You can also try styling prints that are different but have the same colors. More on that below!
Does Floral Print Make You Look Bigger?
As a plus size girly myself, I think it depends. I’ve honestly heard advice both in support of and against floral prints for plus size women.
As a floral print lover, I have to tell you first: if you love it, wear it! If you’re worried about a print making you appear bigger, I would go for neutral florals or prints with smaller floral motifs instead of big and bold.
How To Accessorize My Prints & Patterns?
When I’m styling a simple, neutral print like stripes or maybe even tiny polka dots, I might go more colorful with my accessories. For example, stripes with a colored flat or a bright earring.
But if it’s a bold or colorful print like the pants below, I like to keep my accessories simple. Neutral sandals or sneakers. Simple jewelry. I like to let the print do all the talking!
Do Prints Go Out Of Style?
In a word, yes. Remember the chevron stripes from years ago? Technically speaking, some of your bolder prints risk looking dated a lot sooner than a solid or a classic pattern like stripes or plaid.
For this reason, I recommend starting with solids when you’re building a wardrobe. Once you have a good number of basic pieces that you can mix and match, that’s when you add a few fun prints or patterns in to mix things up.

Cheat Code: Try A Dress In An All Over Print
Including this pic to show off the beautiful print, but keep in mind: drop waist style dresses can be tricky, especially as a plus size Mama with a short torso and hips for days(;
I also included a few dresses below in the SHOP THIS POST section with beautiful prints that have more flattering silhouettes.

Start Small With A Classic Print On Top
A classic, striped button down is an *excellent* way to dip your toe in if you’re not sure where to start with Spring prints. This navy striped number would actually work year-round!

Match Your Top With One Color From Your Spring Print
Ready to try printed pants? Pick one color from the pants and match it with your top. In this case, I went with this soft mock-turtleneck crop top. Super chic and easy!

Or… Pair With A Soft Neutral
If the idea above feels too “matchy-matchy”, try styling your Spring print with a soft neutral instead. I chose a warm peanut-butter shade, but these pants would go great with a cream as well!

Pair With Another Bright
If you wanted to go REALLY bright, you could go for a hot pink instead! But I also love a soft, barely-there blush, so I went with this comfy tee. Plus, it’s 100% cotton so it’s lightweight and breathable (which will be super helpful come Summertime).

Ready For The Big Leagues? Here’s How To Mix Spring Prints Like A Pro
Go for a different print with the same colors.

If you’re mixing Spring prints, don’t pair bold with bold. Keep the top or the bottom simple and understated.
